The Director General of the Cross River State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS (SACA), Dr Etcheri Ansa, has commended the Honorable Commissioner for Health, Dr Betta Edu, for her diligence, steadfastness and efforts that has today led to the State unveiling yet another Isolation Center in Adiabo a suburb of the State capital making it a total of three in a State that is yet to record any case of COVID-19.

Dr Ansa who expressed her satisfaction with the proactive actions of Government under the purposeful leadership of His Excellency Sen Prof Ben Ayade, and the ever assiduous, hardworking and knowledge pact Honorable Commissioner for Health Dr Betta Edu said cross river state was indeed blessed to have the right hands on the plough.

“The Inauguration of this project is a testimony to the fact that Cross River State is taking the lead on the fight against COVID-19, and this unquenchable zest is spearheaded by the Dr Betta Edu who is also the Taskforce Chairman of the COVID-19 Response Team.

In her words; “Although the State is still Covid-19 free courtesy of the efforts of our proactive and health oriented Governor Sen Prof Ben Ayade who has channeled so much resources for this fight and also the Health Commissioner who doubles as the Chairman of the COVID-19 Taskforce Response Team Dr Betta Edu who have been working round the clock. With their efforts and that of the taskforce team, they’ve been this continued concerted effort to stamp out this disease and the result thereof is a Cross River State, free of COVID-19.”

The setting up of this Isolation Center is an effort towards providing a facility that will help combat this dreaded virus and this will turn out to add more strength/vigor to our Health Sector as when this pandemic is finally over, this high standard medical equipments will be pushed into our different health sector and will be of immense use to cross riverians Dr Etcheri added.

Presently, the State now has three Isolation Centers, two big Wards for males and females and Rooms for VVIPs with over 70 beds for the males and 30 for the females this is because research has proven that men have so far been affected by this disease than women. This is made possible as a result of the efforts of the Cross River State Government under the watch of Sen Prof Ben Ayade.
