According to NAN, the Zonal leadership of the party’s tenure ended in 2020, and when it did, the National leadership of the party appointed a caretaker committee to oversee the party’s affairs until a zonal congress was held.

According to NAN, the race for National Vice Chairman South South is between the immediate past incumbent, elder Emmanuel Ogidi of Delta, and Chief Dan Orbih, the caretaker committee National Vice Chairman of Edo.

Officials were already screening delegates into the congress venue at the time of filing this report.
