2023: Don’t Distract Ayade — Senator Gershom Bassey Tell Cross Riverians

Senator Gershom Bassey, Senator for the Southern Senate District of Cross River State and Chairman of the FERMA Committee, asked Cross Riverians to stop rumors of political permutations and state sentiments, saying that Governor Ben Ayade and his administration are unnecessarily distracted by the effort to provide democratic dividends to the citizens of the state.

This is coming on the heels of a series of reports, dissenting statements and media pressure on the 2023 Governorship Elections by enthusiastic political workers, which are still far ahead.

In a recent interview, Senator Gershom Bassey emphasized the fact that his two years to 2023 and we still have a sitting Governor in the person of Professor Ben Ayade, who has been working very hard recently, especially on security in our state, which we saw significant improvements after the protest of the End Sars.

The Governor has also sworn in Justice Akon Ikpeme, the Chief Judge of our State, which was a long-standing tussle that he amicably resolved.

Senator Gershom Bassey, speaking with the journalist, stressed that at this point, the Governor should be able to concentrate on governance rather than distracting him.

Our Governor, the State and the People are not equal to anybody who thinks about governorship, senatorial or even councilor election at this time. Until the end of his term, Senator Gershom Bassey implored everyone to support the governor and encourage him to do his job.

Then, people who are interested in something will make their interest known at the end of his term, but for now everyone can relax with their ambition and allow the Governor to concentrate on his job.
