The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Cross River Southern Senatorial District, Asuquo Ekpenyong has urged eligible voters to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), to enable them vote for credible leaders in the 2023 general elections.
He made the call during an advocacy drive to all voting clusters in Calabar Metropolis during the weekend to mobilise eligible voters on importance of the voter registration and participation exercise.
Ekpenyong urged eligible voters to take advantage of the INEC extension to register and obtain their PVCs before the deadline set out by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Also Speaking the Coordinator of the voters awareness for Calabar Municipal/Odukpani Constituency, Hon Eric Anderson disclosed that the essence of the advocacy is to ease the stress of people who turn out in large numbers to register in designated centres by providing alternative registration points.
Pastor Thomas Bassey , Chairman, Transport Union lauded the gesture, adding that the sensitisation would educate the people and encourage participation in the exercise while pledging support to the sensitisation activities of the group through mobilising of its members to obtain their PVCs.
One of the registration centre at Calabar South recorded a massive 205 registration between hours of 9am and 11am. This goes along way to show that the Sensitization and setting up of registration centres across the two LGAs is paying off. Continue Reading…
