It is 59th Nigeria independence day. Nigeria celebrates its independence day every 1st of October to commensurate 2019 Nigeria Independence day.

As we celebrate the 59th independence day of our nation Nigeria, the Lagos State chapter Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Hon. Femi Olaniyi (Ferrari) wishes the good people of Lagos State, party members and Nigerians at large a belated Happy 59th Nigeria Independence Day.

In a statement issued by the state chairman in Lagos, Olaniyi said “Every citizen should have a sense of belonging wherever they found themselves”.

The statement reads: “Let all our politicians rise to the great task of building social trust between the people and the nation. By so doing, we can have peace and stability in our country”.

“Freedom does not come so easily. We are indebted to our national heroes who made this country what it is today. As patriotic citizens, let’s put extra effort to perform our own civic rights and responsibilities. Our diversities should not be seen as a weakness but as our strength. It is only by working together that we can build a resilience nation.”
Let us think of something we can do for our nation to make it a place of wealth, peace, and happiness”.
