With the latest skirmish between the party’s old and new members, the crisis gripping the All Progressives Congress in Cross River State (APC) looks to have no end in sight ahead of the Ward and Chapter Congresses.

Yesterday, a source close to the Local Government Area Vice Chairman confirmed to weetalknaija that he does not want his name in print.

According to the source, his boss is the Vice Chairman, and as things stand, he is the highest leader in his ward, and he is required to take responsibility of his ward list under the APC constitution. Meanwhile, the old members, on the other hand, have determined not to let him succeed.

Further, he stated that the old members of the party appear to be unhappy with the Council Vice Chairman’s choice, and that the time has come to teach the old members how to play politics.

In his own words: “Let me ask you a question: who is going to bring the list to Calabar? Who would be in charge of submitting the list to the governor?

“So, now that we’ve made our point, they can do anything they want with the list. But when the time comes, we’ll know who the ward’s leader is.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has announced a new date for the congresses that were postponed indefinitely last week, as reported by Weetalknaija.

According to a letter obtained by Newsnow from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the congresses would begin on July 31 with Ward and will be followed by local government and state congresses in that order.
Mai Mala Buni, the chairman of the Caretaker committee, and Senator James Akpanuoedehe, the secretary, both signed the letter.
