International Legal luminary, Victor Ukutt Blast Festus Keyamo, called for his immediate removal

A foremost international legal practitioner, Barr Victor Ukutt has Slammed Mr Keyamo who is the Director of Strategic Communications (Official Spokesperson) of the 2019 re-election bid of President Buhari over what he described as noise making and legal inconsequential issue of citizenship bothering on the citizenship of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Nigerian former vice president and PDP presidential candidate in the just concluded general elections.

He stated this on Wednesday 16th on his official facebook page.

The Statement reads:

“It so sad that a legal charlatan like Fetus Keyamo who uses the press to make noise and gain attention has kept Nigerian busy on a legal inconsequential issue of citizenship by birth vis-a-vis the right to contest president election in Nigeria by Atiku Abubakar.

“Historically the present day Adamawa state was part of Northern Cameroon but after the presbicite of 1961 they joined Nigeria. By section 10 of the Republican constitution of 1963 every person borned in that province were Nigerian citizen by birth.

“The subsequent constitution enactments refer to citizens by birth to include those that were born in those provinces post presbicite. The supreme Court put a finality to this issue in 1981 in the case of Shugabar Vs The Minister of Internal Affairs.

“If Fetus Keyamo gives a legal opinion on any matter take it with a pitch of salt. The court of Appeal in the case of Bode George Vs Federal government stated in that decision that Fetus Keyamo was not a good lawyer and ordered the Federal government to change him. All the cases he handled for EFCC he lost all on elementary legal grounds.

“Of recent, Festus Keyamo has been making series of utterances on sensitive issues which many believe do not only belittle the exalted office of the president but capable of jeopardizing the unity, integrity and progress of Nigeria.”
