According to George Prints, councilors in Cross River State have vowed to defect to the PDP due to the Cross River State Government’s “poor funding and non-release of cash for their legislative duties.”

According to them, each Local Government Chairman has received over N150 million in capital projects, but no Councilor has been carried along or assigned a project.
