The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the leaked tapes quoting the Minister of Transport and DG of the Muhammadu Buhari 2019 Presidential Campaign, Rotimi Amaechi as insulting President Buhari.

Newspoint Media earlier reported on Sunday that the two controversial audio tapes launched by Reno Omokri, quoted Amaechi as criticising the President. Amaechi reportedly acknowledged;

“This nation can in no way change, I swear. The solely means this nation can change is that if all people is killed. This nation goes nowhere, I swear.

“Even within the occasion you divide the nation into 10, it may well nonetheless not change. I’m not joking o. When Magnus (Abe) was my SSG, I knowledgeable him that this nation is hopeless and helpless.

“He said ‘Oga, stop it now. Coming from a governor, don’t be saying that. But two months in Abuja, Magnus said this country is hopeless and helpless. I said ‘why?’ He said, you are right, the only thing they do in Abuja is share money, they don’t work.”

The second tape acknowledged, “The president does not take heed to anybody. He doesn’t care. You can write what you want to write. The president doesn’t care. Does he study? He will study, he’ll snort. He will say ‘come, come and see, they are abusing me here’.

“In fact, there was one case of somebody in Onitsha, a trader in Onitsha who couldn’t sell his goats during Sallah. And I was with Oga on the plane and the man was busy abusing Buhari. He said, ‘Amaechi, come, what is my business with Onitsha goat seller?’”

In an announcement posted on twitter on Sunday evening, Atiku wrote;

“To that Onitsha goat vendor who could not promote his gadgets because of prevailing unhealthy monetary system, I say to you that I care. You and all Nigerians are my enterprise. You are my priority. Join me and #LetsGetNigeriaWorkingAgain and I assure you that subsequent Sallah is perhaps larger.”
