Sir Benedict Bengioushuye Ayade, born to the family of Late Mr. & Mrs. Peter Akinsheye Ayade of Kakum Village on March 2, 1969, experienced extreme poverty and want at his childhood, yet remained unyielding as he makes good use of his God-given intelligence, and hard work to push himself out of obscurity of poverty to a blazing star whose ray has illuminate all his life’s endeavors for the good of all, indicating
that being a child of destiny, poverty could not hold him hostage for long.

Indeed, childhood poverty was only meant to prepare him for future leadership roles and also to teach him humility so he could be
considerate to those he will meet along life’s journey, especially those he will lead as well as those down the ladder and in need.

Despite his early childhood grinding and excruciating poverty, young Benedict Bengioushuye Ayade, acquired his education from the primary to the tertiary level on record time, making even children from well
to do families with everything but could not achieve such feat to be green with envy.

At the young age of 25, Benedict Bengioushuye Ayade had not only obtained his Ph.D in Environmental Microbiology at the prestigious premier University of Ibadan but he equally carted home the Best
Doctoral Dissertation Award in the above stated field, and went on to work as a lecturer at Delta State University, Abraka where he was subsequently appointed Professor.

Not satisfied with the fact that he emerged as one of the youngest Professors of his time and wrote the best Dissertation in groundwater remediation in Nigeria, Ayade proceeded to prove to the whole world Once again that he was/is cut out for great things and for signs and wonders by the Almighty God as from his Ph.D work, he invented a

The Obudu born child of destiny with humble beginning therefore entered his name in the Hall of Fame as he succeeded through hard work to be named among inventors of high repute, whose invention and technology had and is still contributing hugely to the production of crude oil by oil producing companies/conglomerates operating off-shore in Nigeria.

Not Oblivion of his humble background and determined to succor the plights of many who are not so fortunate and are trekking the rough path of poverty and want that he faced in his early life, Ayade set up a scholarship scheme which benefited many and helped many to graduate from tertiary institutions. {This writer would have been a beneficiary of that scholarship scheme in 1997 while at the University of Calabar
if not for the local and parochial politics that was played against him emerging at the village level}.

At this early stage in his journey to political prominence, Ayade held several appointments including being the Chairman of Ecological Fund, Chairman of International Institute of Environmental Research, Member of Strategic Policy Advisory Council, Member of Nigeria Association of Petroleum Engineers, and Member of Cross River State Poverty
Alleviation Board.

In 2011, Ayade decided to actually test the murky waters of politics by seeking to represent the people of Northern Cross River {The Northern Senatorial district} at the upper Chambers as the Senator of
the Federal Republic, and was overwhelmingly elected, and spent four
years at the senate and created immense impact which many second, third and even fourth time members could not achieve.

Spending just a single tenure, 2011 to 2015 in the senate, Ayade was able to sponsor 41 bills within this period, a landmark achievement that has not been surpassed, a feat that indisputably ranked him as a
prolific senator who was ranked highest among his colleagues during the tenure of the 7th senate.

Besides the groundbreaking numbers of bills sponsored by Sir Benedict Ayade during his days in the Senate, he held the exalted position of Vice-Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology. The Obudu
born egg-head and orator par excellence was also a member of other Committees including Petroleum Downstream, Education, and Drugs/Narcotics/Crime among others.

At the senate, Ayade sponsored the Nigerian Naira Stabilization Bill, Nigeria Expatriate Quota Control Bill, Job Creation and Protection Bill, Federal Scholarship Commission Bill, Petroleum Refineries Bill,
Green Cities Development Bill, EFCC Act 2003 Bill, and National Energy Bill, and others.

It is equally worthy of note that during his days at the senate, Sir Ayade proved to be a senator who speaks and act accordingly , being an dependable voice for the oppressed and down-trodden as he was equally
very benevolent, a free giver who succour the poor and those in need, especially the aged, widows and the orphans.

He established a Food Bank where the above mentioned categories of persons were supplied with food and other needed items; an initiative he has continue to maintain even in his new assignment as the governor
of Cross River State.

Not forgetting that he was/is a child of destiny with a clear purpose and mandate to accomplish on earth and knowing that his political exploit will not end in the senate, if he must create greater impact on the lives of his people and other Nigerians, he deliberated within himself and came up with a blueprint of development that will serve as
a Solid base for the development of Cross River State.

The blue print included the Super Highway and the Bakassi Deep Seaport, plan of carry out an in-depth geological survey and mapping of the natural endowments/minerals and resources, including Solid
