Bill Authorizing The Formation Of State Police In Nigeria Passes Second Reading
The House of Representatives has given a second reading to a bill that would amend the constitution to allow for the creation of state police and other state government security services.
Onofiok Luke, who represents the Etinan/Nsit Ibom/Nsit Ubium Federal Constituency, supported the bill.
The congressman who led the debate on Tuesday stated that the bill will improve the security and preservation of lives and property in Nigeria.
The bill aims to move policing legislation from the exclusive list of the House to the concurrent list.
