BREAKING!!! Bomb Blast Rains In Delta, As Federal Government Besieged IPOB Hideouts

Helicopter suspected to be that of the Nigerian Military, was reported to have been shelling forest areas suspected to be hideouts for the members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, in Delta State.

This happened shortly after the leader of the movement, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, was tracked and arrested by the Nigeria government.

Sahara Reporters reported that the planned attack rocked communities like Anwai in Asaba, Ugwuwaosu and Ogbolu. Residents of these communities confessed that the aircrafts descended so very close to their buildings and rained strikes.

“The helicopters passed two times this morning and then we heard booms. Why are they targeting non-existent IPOB and where were they when faceless Fulani herdsmen wrote a threat letter to attack Delta?

“The military aircraft has been disturbing the serenity of our communities and this should stop. We have babies, small children and aged persons who can die from shock,” a resident lamented.

The State’s Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ari, confirmed that a calculated attack was championed by some security forces under the aegis of Nigerian Air Force (NAF), on some IPOB members in Delta.

An helicopter traced to the state’s capital and around Ilah, was used to send signals and disperse the members of IPOB.

He said, “Illah is the base of IPOB. They come from Onitsha, Anambra State to regroup in Illah. We must tell them they are not welcomed in the state. Delta State would be hot for them. Once we identify them from the air, we shall make sure we send them parking and if care is not taken, deal with them the way they want.”

This was a bit contradictory to the position of the Acting Public Relations Officer of the state’s Police, one DSP Bright Edafe. He called the news a rumour, and the tension in the area an hoax one. He denied any attack in the area.

“There is nothing like that in Okpanam, the area is peaceful. If they hear a gunshot, they will begin to speculate about what is not happening. I can tell you that what is going on in Okpanam is a situation issue which I will not discuss in public,” Edafe said.
