In February, the former CBN governor revealed his intention to run for governor of Anambra state.

Soludo promised to use his international network to transform the state when he entered the race.

He also commended the current governor of Anambra, Willie Obiano, and described him as one of the best in the country.

Anambra is flourishing well under Obiano, and my aim is to continue and finish all of the governor’s legacy projects,” he had stated.

Soludo was ambushed by gunmen at an interactive town hall meeting in Isuofia, Aguata LGA, Anambra state, only weeks after expressing his interest in the governorship contest.
