BREAKING!!! EFCC Arrests Former Edo State Governor




Former Edo State Governor has been arrested by the EFCC.

Lucky Igbinedion, a former governor of Edo State, has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).



Igbinedion is currently being interrogated at the EFCC’s headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, regarding the diversion of N1.6 billion in public monies.



The former governor is accused of diverting a loan obtained by the Edo State government to settle the financial indebtedness of a company in which he was said to have an interest. He was convicted of corruption in 2007.

Wilson Uwujaren, a spokesman for the anti-graft agency, verified the news.



Igbinedion was charged and sentenced to six months in prison in 2008 with an option of N3.5million fine for embezzling N2.9billion belonging to Edo State.
