On Tuesday, gunmen stormed the city, overwhelming security forces that attempted to repel them.
During the incident, a police officer and other residents were reportedly fired.
According to Ibrahim Saidu, a community resident who confirmed the incident, about two people were whisked away to an unknown destination.
According to the Daily Trust, the gunmen who first targeted residents of Anguwar Samu in Tungan-Maje whisked away two people after an hour-long exchange of gunfire.
“The entire population of Anguwar Samu was terrified as a result of the gunshots, but they were only able to kidnap two people,” he said.
After the police were overpowered, the kidnappers went to the New Poultry area of the council area, where they kidnapped two residents, according to him.
He said the injured police officer and vigilante had been taken to an unidentified hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, in the early hours of Tuesday, a Police Inspector with the Federal Capital Territory Command was killed while leading operatives in Zuba Axis to repel multiple kidnapping attacks.
According to witnesses, the brave soldier, Inspector Ambi John, who was leading one of the teams in repelling the attacks, suffered gunshot wounds and was rushed to the hospital for treatment, but eventually died.
The alleged kidnappers were operating along the Dankusa, Angwan-Zegele-Zuba axis when a distress call was sent to the Police, according to Weetalknaija.
As a result, a joint command and combat team from Operation Puff Adder reacted quickly to a distress call and engaged the heavily armed hoodlums in a vicious gun fight.
The kidnappers, many of whom had bullet wounds, were said to have fled via the Dankusa, Angwan-Zegele-Zuba axis, according to a security source.
“Unfortunately, during the action, one of the brave officers, Inspector Ambi John, assigned to Operation Puff Adder, received fatal gunshot wounds and was rushed to the hospital, where he died while seeking treatment.”
