At least three people were killed in the violence that erupted during the by-election for Ekiti East Constituency 1 in the State House of Assembly, including a female police officer.
Juwa Adegbuyi, the constituency’s representative, died in February, leaving the seat vacant.
On Saturday, political thugs allegedly wreaked havoc on voters and security agents, according to reports.

The shootings occurred three hours into the election at Senator Biodun Olujimi’s Ward 7, Unit 7 in Ekiti South.
