BREAKING!! Killing of Soldiers, Wike Goes Hard On Hoodlums, Imposes Dusk-To-Dawn Curfew In 23 Local Government Areas

Following security concerns, the Rivers Security Council has placed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on all 23 local government areas of the state, with effect from Thursday.
In a statewide broadcast, Governor Nyesom Wike said the decision was reached after a thorough deliberation by the council at Government House in Port Harcourt.
The Governor recalled that on April 28, 2021, the council placed a night-time curfew on all state land boundaries in response to recent murderous attacks on security personnel in Ikwerre and Abua/Odual Local Government Areas.
According to a statement released by the Governor’s Special Assistant for Media, Kelvin Ebiri, there is a possibility of more deadly attacks on hard and soft targets throughout the state following a study of the current security situation.

He said that the state government must take additional required steps to secure the state and protect lives and property.

“As a result, the State Security Council has agreed and recommended today, after extensive deliberation, that a state-wide curfew on human and vehicular movements be enforced as part of additional steps to prevent the faceless criminals from unleashing their deadly actions,” he said.

As a result, a night curfew is hereby imposed on the State’s entire 23 Local Government Areas, prohibiting any human or vehicular movement within or across the State from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., effective today, April 29, 2021, until further notice.”
Wike emphasized that the government made the decision with the sole purpose of securing the state and ensuring the safety of lives and property.
The Governor urged everyone in the state to be alert and to report any suspicious activity in their neighborhood to security agencies as soon as possible so that urgent action can be taken.
