BREAKING!! Minister of Health Caught Kissing, Embracing His Staff In His Office

Matt Hancock, the British health minister, resigned after being seen kissing and embracing an employee in his office, enraging colleagues and the public who had been living under lockdown.

Hancock wrote to Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Saturday (local time), admitting he had let people down, in the latest controversy to shake a government that has overseen one of the highest official death counts from the pandemic, according to Weetalknaija.

After the Sun tabloid published images of the married minister embracing a lady he had recruited to a taxpayer-funded post to scrutinize his department on Friday, an increasing number of his Conservative colleagues privately called for him to go.

In a video posted to Twitter, the 42-year-old stated, “Those of us who set these rules have to stick to them, and that’s why I’ve got to leave.”

Hancock has been at the forefront of the government’s campaign against the pandemic, appearing on television on a regular basis to urge people to obey tight guidelines and defend his department against criticism of its response to the crisis.

Sajid Javid, a former finance minister with extensive government experience but no experience in health, will take his position.

When Javid lost a power struggle with Johnson’s then-most senior ally, Dominic Cummings, he was forced out of the Treasury in early 2020.

He’ll be in charge of assisting the state-run health system in recovering from the epidemic and dealing with any future outbreaks. In the recent month, the number of cases has begun to grow.

Johnson has also suffered an embarrassment as a result of Hancock’s resignation, since he stated on Friday (local time) that he had accepted Hancock’s apologies and considered the matter closed.

He expressed regret for receiving the resignation the next day.

In response to Hancock, he responded, “You should be enormously proud of your service.” “I am grateful for your support, and I am confident that your contribution to public service will continue in the future.”

A two-week lockdown was imposed across much of NSW.

Last month, the Sun published photos showing Hancock kissing his aide in his office, at a time when it was illegal for people to have personal contact with someone outside their household.

Many Conservative lawmakers have notified the party that they can no longer support him.

The opposition Labour Party questioned if Hancock had broken the ministerial code by appointing a long-time friend as a non-executive director to oversee his department’s operations.

On Twitter, Labour leader Keir Starmer said Hancock was correct in resigning, but that “Boris Johnson should have terminated him.”

Britain has been shattered by the pandemic, which has resulted in 128,000 deaths and one of the steepest economic contractions on record, and Hancock has been heavily chastised. His department struggled in the early months to get testing and protective equipment to hospital employees treating patients.

The government has been bolstered by a quick vaccine rollout, with 84 percent of adults receiving one shot and 61 percent receiving both, far ahead of most countries.

While cases have started to rise – up 18,000 on Saturday – vaccines appear to have weakened the link between infections and deaths and most restrictions could be dropped by July 19.

Despite the fact that the situation was improving, the discoveries surrounding Hancock had aroused allegations of hypocrisy. They also resurrected the claim that Johnson’s administration is riddled with favoritism.
