BREAKING : NACHON Issues Hajj Operating License To Cross River Govt


WAEC 2022 Massive Recruitment for Graduates

Cross River State Government is about the first state in the South South and South East region of Nigeria to be given operating license by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to operate hajj and Humrah Tour to add to the tourism and religous commitment of the state.

The National Hajj Commision of Nigeria (NAHCON) presented the license to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Matters, Rev.Father Bob Etta in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Represented by the Chairman of Cross River pilgrim Welfare Board,Alh Hassan Tanimu, Etta said , with the certification,institution framework and policies of annual Hajj operations in the state have been put in place to drive the process.

“This means that More pilgrims both privately sponsored and government allocations will be coming from Cross River State annually.

He said , the gesture giving to Cross River State even though a Christian Predominantly state has given cresit to the tolerant, receptive and mutual Co-existence the state stand for under Governor Ben Ayade.

” This Licence will further deepen the already existing relationship between Cross River State Government and NAHCON which has demonstrated the Iconic Cross River in Nigeria States” he said.

Chairman of the Commission, Alh. Abdulahi Mukhtar said the document has confirmed the commitment and disposition of Cross River State toward consistent involvement in hajj operations and positive behavioural patterns of the pilgrims from the state.

Mukhar said many states in the region applied for the license but so far,only Cross River State has Certified to be given, having met the conditions required by the law that established the Commission.

The Renewable license states: “Cross River State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Having satisfied the condition laid down by the National Hajj Commision of Nigeria (NAHCON), in exercose of the powers vested on it by Section 4(1)(a) of the NAHCON (Establishment) Act. 2006 is hereby granted license to carry out Hajj Activities within its jurisdiction for a period of Two calendar years” it reads.
