BREAKING!! Nigerian Government To Shut Down Schools Again As COVID-19 Cases Increase
If there is an increase in COVID-19 cases identified in Nigeria, the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 has said it would not hesitate to shut down schools in the country.
Mukhtar Muhammed, PTF National Incident Manager, reported this in a video posted by the PTF on Twitter on Monday.
“Muhammed said, “The school reopening issue is something that has been addressed very thoroughly by the PTF. The educational ministry agreed to open the schools. It was the states who really decided to see the schools reopened, based on our own interpretation.
Now the PTF is closely following this, we’re tracking what’s going on, and if we find out that cases begin to increase in the country and we’re beginning to have school incidences, we’re going to have schools closed, for sure.
“We should have postponed the opening of the schools in the first instance, but now that the schools are opened, the PTF will continue to monitor all the schools very closely to ensure that they take action and ensure that people follow as much as possible.”
