Disengaged NPower Beneficiaries Plan Nationwide Protest Over Buhari’s Minister, Farouk’s Failure To Pay Five Months’ Allowances

Disengaged NPower beneficiaries have said they will embark on a one-week nationwide protest to press home their demands of the non-payment of their five-month stipends of N14,000 by the Nigerian government among other grievances.

SaharaReporters learnt that the aggrieved beneficiaries would also be protesting against the office of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Sadiya Umar Farouk, for also withholding the promised loans for 500,000 applicants.

According to them, the peaceful protest will commence next week Monday across the country to also demand the sack of Buhari’s minister, Farouk for being “callous and insensitive in handling their case.”

This was contained in a statement issued by the National President of the 500,000 Disengaged Exited NPower volunteers, Comrade Bashir, Gobir obtained by SaharaReporters on Tuesday.

Recall that the sacked volunteers cried out over the matter in August and also demanded the sack of Farouk after President Muhammadu Buhari sacked Saleh Mamman and Sabo Nanono, Power and Agricultural ministers respectively on September 1.

Gobir in the statement said, “It is reality that batches A and B of 2016 and 2017 respectively were disengaged since the appointment of Sadiya Farouk, and more than 14,000 exited beneficiaries have been denied five-month stipends.

“And there is no development of any policy to address the Youth Empowerment in Nigeria since Sadiya Farouk was appointed to manage NPower. She keeps deceiving us about the package.

“We want Sadiya Farouk to be queried as a matter of urgency, and that is why we are mobilising for the protest across the nation since she and other officials in her ministry have refused to honour our demands.”

One of the victims, Patrick Mayor, who lent his voice to the protest, said, “Sadiya must go should be the slogan of all the disengaged NPower beneficiaries. We are ready for the protest and our future lies in our hands. We served our Fatherland diligently and actively two times. Why should our future be toyed with?”

SHOCKER: How Tonto Dikeh’s Ex-Boyfriend, Kpokpogri Blackmailed Her With N*de Photos

Fresh details have emerged revealing how an ex-boyfriend of actress, Tonto Dikeh, Prince Kpokpogri allegedly blackmailed her with pictures of her naked body.

POLITICS NIGERIA learned that Kpokpogri, a popular politician in Delta state dated the actress briefly before their relationship hit the rocks.

According to a Petition filed by the actress to the Commissioner of Police, Abuja, through her legal representatives, Festus Keyamo Chambers, the actress claimed that Kpokpogri lured her into a relationship and discreetly recorded their private moments.

She claims the politician is a known ‘blackmailer’ who secretly planted CCTV cameras around his house and bedrooms in order to capture her in the nude.

The petition read; “We are solicitors to Miss Tonto Dikeh and it is on her instruction that we write this petition to your esteemed office. We have been briefed as follows;

“That sometime in June 2021, one Prince Kpokpogiri Joseph started to court our client with a proposal to marry her. In the Process, he would invite our client to his residence and sometimes he came over to our client’s residence. Unknown to our client, the said Joseph Kpokpogri (who our client later discovered to be a serial blackmailer) had other motives for courting our client.”

“Our client now has reasons and evidence to believe that Joseph Kpokpogri had planted closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV Cameras) at private areas of his residence and had stage-managed those visits with the aim of blackmailing our client. She was surprised when sometime in August 2021, the suspect started demanding money from her and threatening to expose nude pictures and other such documents relating to her.”

“To actualize his demand, the said Kpokpogri started sending messages, documents and files containing sensitive information and materials relating to our client to her phone while also releasing some to the public. Our client believes that some of those information were obtained either by wire-tapping her phone and/or through such other means without her authorization.”

“The said Kpokpogri equally obtained the sum of N8,000,000 (Eight million naira) from our client under false pretences. However, he has paid back the sum of N6,000,000 (Six Million Naira) but has refused, failed, and/or neglected to pay the sum of N2,000,000 (Two Million Naira) outstanding. Our client’s Toyota Hilux van(2021 Model) bought in her name is also in the custody of Kpokpogri which he has refused to return despite several demands.”

“By reason of the above, we urge you to use your good offices to cause a detailed investigation into the above facts with a view to bringing Joseph Kpokpogri to book.”
