BREAKING!!! Senator Gershom Bassey Has Done It Again, Splashes ₦36million On Market Women In 18-LGA
The Sen. Gershom Bassey campaign organization, led by the distinguished senator himself empowers about one thousand youths and women in Cross River state in what is termed “TOTAL EMPOWERMENT”.
Speaking during the empowerment scheme in calabar, the Cross River State capital, the senator said that every woman( market woman) and youth across the state, is entitled to the sum of fourty thousand naira (40,000), as the empowerment programme was executed by the campaign committee, championed by the senators secretary, Mr George Ofem.
Senator Gershom Bassey noted that with relative peace and unity, the SGBs campaign organization has embarked on individuals and economic enhancement projects and programmes, while assuring of partnership with the youths, he said that from today hence forth, it shall be youths in every dimension and ramification even through 2023 to 2027.
The senator reiterated that the special programme targets to empower women and youths from the hills of obanliku down to the creeks of Bakassi.
Flagging off the empowerment proper, Rt Hon. Dr Itam Abang Asu admonished women to make use of the money received wisely, so as to have something to show for, by next year.
The senators wife, Dr. Mrs Chioma Gershom Henry Bassey sent her regards and vote of thanks through Bar. Mrs patricia Endeli Inyang, encouraging women to go get their voters Card, as that remains the only tool for women to make their impact felt in 2023.She also encouraged women to make judicious use of the monies so as to attract more succor funds.
The chairman of the national youth council, Cross River sate chapter, Hon Dan Obo encouraged youths and students to see to the purpose of the disbursed bursary and also stated that, such act of benevolence deserved to be reciprocated, and that at the right time, the youths will swing into action.
The empowerment was witnessed by political leaders accross the various local governments of the state. Speaking for the Yakur local government area market women, Hon. pastor Nelson Ofem, a member of the cross River State house of Assembly representing Yakur 1 constituency, adviced the women to stay tranquil and not panick, as there was enough money to go round the various local governments.
Other local governments market women in the one hundred and ninety wards of the eighteen local government areas in the state, all received their cheques from their local government party chairmen and leaders.
The various student bodies across the state expressed satisfaction as all bodies of the student Union benefitted from the Senator Gershom Basseys bursary funding. The student bodies include;
1. National Association Of Nigerian Students (NANS), duely represented by the state chairman.
2.National Association Of Cross River State Students (NACRISS), duely reperesented by the state chairman.
3. University of calabar student union bodies
4. University Of Cross River State student union bodies.
5. College Of Health student union bodies.
The programme was graced with dance performances and exhibition by miss cross River state.
