The fortunes of the Cross River State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) may take a turn for the worse as several prominent leaders of the party are set to defect with thousands of their supporters from the party to the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in the aftermath of the primary elections held in the state and other reasons, which some of the aggrieved members said they have been neglected by the State Governor, Ben Ayade.
WeetalknaijaBlog exclusively gathered that, barring any unforeseen circumstance, the aggrieved APC leaders may pitch their tents with the Peoples Democratic Party in a renewed bid to dislodge the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the State Government House in the 2023 governorship election.
A reliable source that was part of the meeting but preferred to be anonymous, further disclosed that the leaders were embittered by what he alleged unfair treatment given to them and other unfulfilled promises made by the governor.
