Peter Idiku, 35 year-old from Okpudu in Yala LGA was found dead in a room at Unity Guest House at Mpape, an Abuja Suburb.
Although the Police has commenced an investigation to unravel the remote cause of the death of the late Mr Idiku, a suspect who is now at large has been fingered in the act.
Investigations revealed that on that fateful day, late Peter Idiku, younger brother of late Monsignor (Dr) Patrick Odey Idiku checked into the Guest House with one Ms Blessing Omotayo who equally live in Mpape and worked with the deceased as Sales Rep.
On the 8th of Dec., 2020, both were at the Guest Inn for a discussion, after which the lady left the Hotel to the Deceased business premises at Mpape and made away with some valuables. The hotel management found Peter’s body in his room after he did not respond to repeated calls and requests to complete checkout formalities. Upon discovering his lifeless body and confirmed he was truly dead, the matter was reported to the police at Mpape.
Police are treating the death as suspicious and have launched an investigation to arrest the principal suspect, Blessing Omotayo who was the last person with the late Peter at the guest house.
The matter is still at the Mpape police Station but efforts are being made to move the case file to the FCT Command for proper investigation.
Efforts are equally in top gear to get the image of Blessing Omotayo who was the last person to see Mr Peter Idiku alive. The Nigerian police has been urged to do thier investigation properly within the rules of engagement to fish out whoever is culpable.
