The statement read in parts: In a bid to impose their unpopular candidate, Dr. Eric Tom Bassey, on the peace loving people of Obubra Local Government Council Area, misinformed the governor to selecting the least aspirant without a bit of popularity in the area.

We want to set record straight by saying that at no time have people of the area met on the issue. The said stakeholders wants to disrupt the peace we have been enjoying since the coming of the governor.

Our message to the Governor is that, we have all seen what happened in Abi/Yakurr House of Reps rerun elections, that is the implication of giving a ticket to an unpopular candidate. And if the decision is not reverse before the main elections, we will have no option than to vote against the party’s candidate.

“This is the most peaceful and successful rally ever. Taking off from from Obubra junction, to Iyamoyong, back to Ofodua and then into Obubra urban where we were given audience by the HOLG of our Lga in the very presence of the security chiefs”.

“In our humble addressed, we started some issues of interest that require the prompt attention of the leadership of the state. Ranging from, Herdsmen attack on the farm lands of our brothers across the river, Total negligence of our traditional institution by the leadership, Leadership not owning up to the indecent imposition of councillors and chairmanship candidates respectively, if no leader can own up to it, then who would have done it ? Perhaps an intruder I guess”.
