There is a continuous silence in some quarters and it is curious and disturbing, the statement added.

“We refuse to keep quiet and let this deliberate provocation go unchallenged and hereby call on the State Government, the Inspector General of Police, Director of Department of State Security State and other Security Agencies to intervene and put modalities in place to curb the menace and end the existing security nightmare in Cross River State.

We demand that Mr Ani Ita and Mrs Eno Patrick be returned to their families forthwith, unarmed!

“The people of Cross River State deserve better than what we are being served at the moment. We will not continue to fold our arms and watch the docile handling of our security.
