Calabar Municipal APC Unity Rally: LG Chairman, Commissioners, Appointees, Others Drum Support For Ayade
The Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Calabar Municipal Local Government Area chapter on Wednesday, converged at the Municipal Council, for a Unity Rally in Honour of Governor Ben Ayade and unanimously declared their support for the governor, reassuring him they are solidly behind him.
The people of Municipal also applauded Governor Ayade for his administration’s sustained efforts in developing the zone, which they said the governor is man of his words and has brought many Cross River youths to limelight.
They also praised the governor for entrenching peace and good governance in the entire state.
Speaking at the well attended rally, some of the leaders of Cross River Southern Senatorial District told weetalknaija that the entire people of Municipal and Cross River South are united and proud of Ayade’s remarkable achievements in the area and the state in spite of the nation’s economic, security and public health challenges, reiterating their unalloyed support for him.
The leaders who spoke at the event include the Speaker of Cross River House of Assembly, Eteng Jones, Deputy Speaker, Joseph Bassey, Local Government Chairman, Hon. Effefiong Eke, Municipal Council Vice Chairman, Hon. Agbo Usang, Commissioner for transport,Hon.Oqua Edet Oqua, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism,Eric Anderson,commissioner for Urban Development,Emmanuel Edward, Chairman Greater Calabar Capital City Development Authority, Bassey Effiom,DG Cross River State Electrification Agency,Stanley Nsemo, among others.
Speaking, Municipal Local Government Chairman, Hon. Effefiong Nta told WeetalknaijaBlog that “this gathering is to reassure the Governor, Ben Ayade that the people are solidly behind him” charging the Governor to “march on” and “move on”.
Hon. Effefiong who stated that he was very excited with the Governor’s decision to socket Cross River State to the centre, said he is happy to be alive to witness the event where every Calabar man gathered in unity to show support and solidarity to one of their own, in the person of Gov. Ayade, also charged the governor to continue with his laudable vision for the zone and the state.
Also speaking, the Vice Chairman of Municipal Local Government Area. Agbo Usang, pointed out that the people felt that it was imperative that APC in Cross River State should unite and come together to support their own, encourage and offer prayers for his continued success till the end of his tenure, declaring that “our support for Governor Ben Ayade is irrevocable”.
Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Eric Anderson and commissioner for Urban Development, Emmanuel Edward, stated that, socketing to the centre has attracted several development to Cross River.
On his part, the Chairman, Greater Calabar City Development Authority, Bassey Effiom, spoke in the same direction, reemphasizing the need for the people of Cross River State to unite and rally round the governor, to enable him complete his signatory projects, saying: “The Youths were marginalized in the past but Gov. Ayade has wiped away our tears”.
Other speakers, also extolled the governor’s leadership qualities and assured him of the unalloyed support and solidarity of the people of the zone.
