His Excellency, Senator Prof. Ben Ayade has told participants of the 2019 Cultural Carnival to see elements of humanity in everything.

He made this known through his deputy, Prof. Evara Ejemot Esu, who represented him at the flag off ceremony of the Cultural Carnival in Calabar.

Esu while welcoming everyone to the event, told participants to show compassion, thereby ensuring that they are their brother’s keepers by thinking kindly of them, putting them in their shoes and making them feel loved.

The Chairman, Cross River State Carnival Commission, Mr Gabe Onah, said ” the cultural carnival which is part of the Calabar festival, is to tell the story of one Nigeria and that culture is truly the palm oil with which our tourism is eaten. For us it is a naturally added advantage that our culture is a tourism product.”

Still speaking, Onah said the Christmas village in the last 25 days has been agog with about 10 thousand visitors daily and that the Bikers Carnival is something everyone should look forward to.

About 26 states including the 18 Local Government Areas of Cross River State and over 7 ethnic groups took part in this year’s six-kilometer event.
