The Rate Of Suicide In Nigeria, Especially Among Undergraduates Is At It’s High Level. There Is No Better Time To Discuss About The Causes And Solution Of This Menace Called Suicide But Now.
Below Are The CAUSES and RECOMMENDATIONS To The Menace;
CAUSES
Students Keep Spending Money, Without No Means Of Money Coming In Except Through Parent/Guardian,
Students Offer 10courses Or More In A Semester,
Lecturers Start Coming To Class To Teach When Exams Are In Few Weeks Or Days,
Lecturers Start Releasing Bulk Materials For The Exams Few Weeks Or Days To The Exams,
Practical Courses Are Taught In The Classroom Instead Of Laboratory,
When You Will Be Ask To Buy A Practical Manual, And That Practical Manual Will End Up Being Just A Drawing Manual.
RECOMMENDATIONS
High Institutions Curriculum Should Be Overhauled Or Restructured In Such A Way That A Student Can Be Working. Just Like Their Counterpart In Other Part rt Of The World,
National Assembly Should Enact A Law That Will Prohibit All High Institutions Not To Offer More Than 5courses In A Semester.
I Call Upon Federal Ministry Of Education, National Universities Commission, National Assembly And National Association Of Nigeria Students* , To See That This Menace Called Suicide Is Curbed.
