Crown flour mill, a subsidiary of Olam international Ltd has donated over 2200 cartons of Dangote Pasta to Cross River State Government to curb the effect of Covid-19 stay at home order and reduced the economic effect of the pandemic to the people.
This was presented by the Company Vice President (milling) ,Sinnathurai Vigneswaran at the Cross River State Food Bank warehouse in Calabar and was received by Chairman and Secretary of Cross River Covid-19 Taskforce, Commissioner for Health, Dr Betta Edu and Commissioner of Finance Mr Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr respectively.
Commissioner for Health, Dr Betta Edu who received the items on behalf of the Cross River State Government commended the donor and assured them that it will be judiciously used. She said Cross River State was approaching the fight against Covid-19 with a 360 approach.
Edu reaffirmed the commitment of Cross River State in maintaining the Covid-19 free status and promised of ensuring the company is recognize in the roll call of donors supporting Cross River in the fight against Covid-19.
Also Speaking, Commissioner of Finance, Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr disclosed that the donation is a very good succour to the people of Cross River State while appreciating the Olams Group of Company for their great support. He said it will go along way to cushion the effect covid-19 pandemic in the State.
The Vice President of Crown flour mill, Sinnathurai Vigneswaran while handing over the items said it was one of their many Cooperate Social Responsibilities aimed at reducing the economic hardship faced by Cross Riverians.He said the company will not relent their support to Cross River State people now and in the future.
