The state governor-led faction of the PDP in Cross River state produces Stephen Odey as its senatorial candidate with 450 votes

Another faction in the state led by the “Team Authentic”, which Weetalknaija Daily Post gathered that it has the backing of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC), produced Jarigbe Agom as its senatorial candidate with 381 votes.

Two Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidates have emerged in the yesterday’s bye-election primaries held in Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State.

Weetalknaija Daily Post reports that the “Team Authentic-led faction, backed by the party’s national leadership, produced Jarigbe Agom as its senatorial candidate at its primary held at the Ogoja Local Government Council.

The chairman of the PDP panel, Hon. Kaleb announced Jarigbe Agom as winner of the poll with 381 votes, to beat his closes rival, Stephen Odey who scored 71 votes which was covered by AIT TV, TVC TV and other national dailies newspapers.


However, the other faction of the party announced Stephen Odey as winner of the Poll with 450 votes, which according to Hon. Emaluje, their kangaroo poll was announced by Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC).


Speaking with Emaluje on phone, he told Weetalknaija Daily Post that, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would issued the authentic winner of the yesterday’s contest, Jarigbe Agom certificate of clearance to contest the October 31 senatorial bye-election.

He said:-

“Jarigbe Agom is the winner of the yesterday’s primaries, as I speak, his certificate of clearance will be issued to him by the INEC tomorrow (Monday, September 7, 2020).

“Their kangaroo poll was a total sham. How can they bring CROSIEC to conduct a national election? Have you ever heard that a national election is conducted by the state independent electoral commission?
