COVID-19: Support Gov Ayade’s Effort To Contain COVID-19 in C/River — Special Adviser Muslim Affairs Tells Faithfuls

Muslims in Cross River State have been charged to obey the directive of Governor Ben Ayade on No Movement in and out of the border areas, as well as No Mask No Movement order in a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic in the state.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Muslim Affairs Alhaji Hassan Tanimu gave the charge when he led some imams in Northern and Central Cross River to distribute hand sanitizers and Nose mask to mosques and Muslim Communities.



Tanimu who spoke in Hausa/Fulani to the audience,said though Cross River State is yet to record any confirmed case of COVID-19,the effort and the directive of the Governor to contain the disease must be appreciated and obeyed.

He said the Governor has done everything humanly possible in ensuring that all the citizens living in Cross River State are Covid-19 Free.

The Special Adviser said Muslim community are being carried along in the scheme of things in a way that has never happened before, explaining that the hand sanitizers and nose mask were giving to him by the Chairman of Task Force Response on COVID-19 and Commissioner for Health, Dr Betta Edu to distribute inline with the directive of the governor.

He enjoined them to be patient and follow the instructions of government representative in every Communities on personal hygiene,washing of hands and using of hand sanitizer to clean their hands.

“If you notice any symptoms of Dry Cough, Unusual Temperature, inability to breath properly by any of you or your neighbors,kindly report to the health workers or call the number given to you through your imams and Scholars”he said.

Highpoint of the visit to Akampa Ugep,Nko,,Itigidi, Ikom Boki, Obanliku,Obudu,Yala , Bekwara and Ogoja was the distributions of hand sanitizers and nose masks to women and other Muslim Faithfuls.
