COVID-19 Second Wave: UNFPA Donates Personal Protective Equipment To Government of Cross River

 

Via the Ministry of International Development Cooperation, the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) has provided several state health facilities with Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to tackle the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Inyang Asibong, Hon. Com for International Development Cooperation (MIDC), speaking at the General Hospital in Calabar to the CRS Commissioner for Health, Dr Betta Edu, said the EPPs are to support health workers who are at the forefront of the fight against the dreaded infection and to improve the safety of people who actively work and respond to the COVID-19 p pp.

For her part, Dr Betta Edu, Chairman of the COVID-19 State Committee and Commissioner for Health, thanked UNFPA for their continued support. She added that the government of the state, led by Governor Ben Ayade, is doing all it can to curb the disease.

Dr Janet Ekpeyong, DG, SACA, Dr Etcheri Ansa, Medical Director, General Hospital, Dr Kumar Pranchanc, among others, were also present at the DG, CRS Primary Health Care Development Department.
