Weetalknaija Daily News is well pleased to nominate the names below as most active, performed and outstanding Leaders and representatives of the Year 2019.
The names, portfolios and their performances run down as thus:
(1). Dr. Linda Ayade.
Dr. Linda Ayade is the first nominee in our list. She is the Wife and First Lady of the Governor of Cross River State, Sir Ben Ayade.
Linda Ayade have done much more than expected in office as a First Lady, she is a gift to Cross Riverians.
She has supported and built many youths through her “Linda Ayade Literary Competition” which has over the years raised many outstanding youths in Cross River.
From our findings, it is said that hence your problems are brought to her table, consider them hundred percent to be appropriately taken care of.
(2). Chief Barr. Chris Agara .
Chief Agara is the second nominee in our list.
The Oil Mogul and a philanthropist is one of the leading Senate aspirants during the 2019 general elections in the state, though he could not made it to the last.
Even though as at the time of filling this report, Chris Agara is not an occupant of any elective office. Yet he has recorded several achievements and contribution to both human and capital development and to the general growth of the state.
As a philanthropist, Agara is popularly known as the Mbembe Peace Ambassador.
Some of the Achievements recorded by Chris Agara include; Annual Scholarship Progam in the university of Calabar, to both indigenes and non-indigenes, payment of hospital bills to some patients in the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, brought long lasting peace to some waring communities in Obubra, and many more.
(3). Professor Zana Akpagu.
Third in our list is Vice Chancellor, University of Calabar, Professor Zana Akpagu. Akpagu’s achievements has surpassed people’s expectation, recently, Akpagu declared operation zero portholes in the institution campus, he brought light to Bekwarra LGA of Cross River State by influencing a micro finance bank with a 24/7 hours ATM machine. Bekwarra is one LGA that has in its inception existed without a bank, residents in this LGA usually travel to Ogoja or Obudu before they can make withdrawals or deposit. Akpagu has employed over 50 youths as Lecturers and Assistant lecturers in the University of Calabar.
Because of his meaningful achievements, Akpagu was few months ago conferred with a Chieftaincy title.
(4). Hon. Dr. Betta Edu
The fourth Nominee in our list is Hon. Dr. Betta Edu. For the record, Dr. Betta Edu is the former Director General (DG) of Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency and currently the Cross River State Commissioner for Health. Betta Edu is a woman with a heart of God, as a former DG of CRSPHDA, some of her achievements recorded include; building and renovation of over 50 primary care centres across the state.
As a former DG, unlike others, Betta Edu has over 100 persons under her payroll. She bought food provisions, clothes and other items for a lady who gave birth to triplets from Obubra.
During her birthday celebration, Betta Edu doled out half a million to sponsor a surgical operation of a man said to be suffering from a spinal cord damage, according to Edu the poor man was knocked down by a hit-and-run truck driver and was left alone to wallow in pains.
Betta Edu brought to life and enrolled her in school, a malnourished child suffering from severe kwashiorkor who was abandoned by her mother. Today, the said child is living happily and healthy.
(5). Hon. Dr. Inyang Asibong.
The fifth Nominee in our list is Hon. Dr. Inyang Asibong. For the record, Inyang Asibong is the former Cross River State Commissioner of Health currently the Commissioner of International Cooperation Development/Donor Support.
Asibong open up 3 schools of Nursing and three schools of midwifery that were shut down, she built three General Hospitals through Public Private Partnership (PPP) and gave boasts to three General Hospitals, one from each Senatorial District where Intra modern Eye center, VesicoVaginal Fistula and Recreation centre were built among other laudable achievements. She has over 50 youths under her payroll.
(6). Rt. Hon. Jariigbe Agom.
Jarigbe Agom is the sixth nominee in our list. For the record, Jarigbe Agom is a lawmaker representing Ogoja/Yala federal constituency in the 9th National Assembly.
Jarigbe Agom recently gave empowerment to his constituents. Some of the items include; Keke Napeps, Cars, he also sponsored hundreds of constituents for Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) empowerment scheme where funds will be release to trainees for business.
The lawmaker also stood against the 6 years tenure for President Buhari.
(7). Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba
The seventh nominee in our list is the lawmaker representing Obubra/Etung federal constituency and the House Committee Chairman on Legislative, Budget and Research, Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba.
Unlike other lawmakers, Etaba is one of the Cross River State politicians who according to reliable sources made his wealth before undertaking his political journey. He is the Chief Executive Officer at Good Future Oil and Gas.
The lawmaker recently gave empowerment to his constituents. Some of the items include; Keke Napeps, Sewing Machines, Grinding Machines. Few months ago, he also distributed some relief materials to flood victims through NEMA to communities in Etung LGA of Cross River State. Etaba also visited the Correctional Service in Obubra LGA where he distributed relief materials to the inmates.
(8). Hon. Peter Akam Egba
The eighth nominee in our list is the former Cross River State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, currently the Commissioner of Industry, Hon. Peter Egba was nominated due to his tireless efforts and support to the government of Cross River State which has over the years recorded tremendous achievements.
(9). Hon. Mfon Bassey
The ninth nominee in our list is Hon. Mfon Bassey. Mfon is a former member in the Cross River State Anti-Deforestation Task Force and currently the Cross River State Commissioner for Environment. Mfon is popularly known for his generosity to mankind. He has over 50 youths both in Calabar Municipal and Calabar South under his payroll.
(10). Mr. Ojong Agbor (Cabal Chairman).
The tenth nominee in our list is Mr. Ojong Agbor. Ojong Agbor is popularly known as the Cabal Chairman because of his generosity for mankind. Ojong Agbor believes that you must not oppressed the youth before you can get political powers. Due to his love and respect for humanity, Ojong had received several awards.
(11). Comrade Dan Obo Jnr.
The eleventh nominee in our list is Comrade Daniel Obo (Jnr). For the record, Obo is the former Director General (DG) of Cross River State Recreational Parks and youth leader with thousands of followers. He has built many youths. The idea behind the popular blog (www.weetalknaija.com.ng) today was conceived together with the founder.
