ACCEPTANCE SPEECH OF SENATOR(PROF)SANDY OJANG ONOR, SHORTLY AFTER HIS EMERGENCE AS GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE OF THE PDP
All the panelists
My colleagues
Gentlemen of the press
Brothers and sisters.
“Let me begin by thanking God. The Bible says “All glory belongs to God”.
This victory does not just belong to me, it belongs to them(the co-contenders), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Cross Riverians at large.
“Democracy is deepening in the country. So, when you have a panel of distinguished personalities like these(men of impeachable character) come to your state to conduct election and from day one, they set out to do a great and awesome job, and they were very accountable and showed strength of character in their conduct, then you know that indeed, Nigeria is changing for good.”
“So, I want to thank you panelists. Mr chairman, I am grateful. You did a great job and the evidence is palpable. There is peace, there is tranquility and there is hope”.
“For Cross Riverians in general, like I said during my campaigns leading to this victory, God is about to do something new. We are going to offer you leadership that is different. We will embark on a leadership direction that will re-engineer our state, reinvigorate and reposition it”.
“We will get back Cross River to where it used to be; to a place where people come and meet a safe, clean and green environment.
“We do not boast of too much money, but we boast of humanity that is an example and we intend to return our state back to those paths from where moving forward can be made possible.
“I want to thank everybody once again and do believe that from now until the general election, Cross Riverians will speak and victory will be ours.
God bless Cross River State.
Thank You.
