Cross River APC Drags Ben Ayade To Court, Accuses Governor Of Hijacking Ward Congress Materials, Old Members Decry Marginalisation
If what is happening at the moment in the All Progressives Congress (APC) is anything to go by, the fallout of the ward congresses of the party held recently might be the beginning of another long drawn crisis, if not well managed. The ward congresses which were held on July 31 has further deepened the crisis in the state chapters of the party.
Some aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress in Cross River State have taken the party to Port Harcourt Vacation court over illegality of ward congress, weetalknaija.com.ng can authoritavely report.
According to Odok, who accused the Governor of neglecting the Old Members, lamented that the Governor, “Ben Ayade promised many appointments but old members are yet to see the dividends of defection”.
In an article title “APC CRS: One day one problem”, written by Joseph Odok PhD Esq, weetalknaija.com.ng understand that, the Party chieftain accused the state Governor, Ben Ayade of hijacking ward congress materials.
“First no party member allegedly saw ward congrss materials. Candidates selected were replaced by men close to Gov Sir Benedict Ayade”
“Now members of ward appeal panel are lodged in Presidential hotel when they ought to be at party’s Secretariat”
“Comrade Odey Oyama has taken the party to Port Harcourt Vacation court over illegality of ward congress.
“The Gov promised many appointments but old members are yet to see the dividends of defection. Their next plans are on their chest. I am not celebrating the defection yet because I am afraid of the future because I know how my APC people behave and have chosen to be on the fence
“The APC I know can fight and destroy it’s own house if interest is not harmonized. There must be harmonization because no one can calm the nerves if fight begin”.
