Cross River Collaborates With CBN And Dantata Group To Provide 20,000 Agric Works

The Governor of Cross River State has disclosed after a meeting with CBN and Dantata Group that they have planned to collaborate with the Central Bank of Nigeria and Dantata Group in creating 20,000 agro-based jobs to empower the youths in the state.

He said that employment registration has been thrown out to the young ones in the state and the necessary provision to make them independent will be made available to them.

“The meeting between CBN and Dantata group and indeed Cross River State is to cement a factor and create opportunity first for livestock, cattle and poultry. I have made an offer of job opportunities to 20,000 young people with immediate effect but you are actually going to be your own employer.

“We will provide the money; we have signed an agreement with CBN, they will provide us money to support 20,000 young farmers.”

He also added that when employed, the young farmers have different departments they can choose their interest. There are going to be cotton production, livestock, maize and soya beans farming, rice farming, cocoa processing, groundnut cultivation among others, all depend on their choices.

Futhermore, Gov Ayade said that they are making provision to create an abbatoir in Obudu cattle ranch “aimed at growing cattle, production of beef and exporting it within the West African sub region”.

With all well said, the Governor saw his state as one that needed to take a bold step in creating oppurtunies involved in agro-industrialisation so as to provide jobs for the youths.

However, the leader of the Dantata team and CEO, Dantata Food and Allied Product Company Limited, Alhaji Tajuddeen Dantata said that Cross River has chosen the right path and they are happy they are contributing to the growth of the right path.

He also encouraged the country at large to see it as an oppurtunity to design ways of encouraging food production in the country.
