Cross River Government Breaks Silence on Looted COVID-19 Palliatives

Items looted from CROSPIL Warehouse were just delivered to Government two weeks ago; previous items bought and donated were long distributed to vulnerables across the two senatorial district in the state.

….CACOVID has confirmed that it delivered COVID -19 Palliative to the Ware house first and second week of October 2020!

Emerging evidence shows that most of the Items carted away today by persons who hid under the disgues of the “End SARS” protest to vandalize things had just been delivered to the Cross River State Government few weeks ago. From the deliver note, it is evident that 4298 bags of garri, 130 bags of rice, 2000 cartons of indomie amongst other things had just been delivered to the warehouse this October from CACOVID.

Furthermore, warehouse manager revealed that this items are usually collated and distribution was done as soon as it got to a sizable quantity to go round a senetorial district. Northern and central senatorial district had received ccc their palliatives as distributed by the Commissioner for Humanitarian affairs and social welfare; Hon. Blessing Egbara. The ones looted were being compiled for the south senatorial district .

Before this time in April the first set of COVID-19 palliatives were distributed to the Christian association of Nigeria, the Islamic association CRS branch and the traditional rulers council who have all confirmed receipt, subsequent ones were given to vulnerables in the two senatorial district.

The videos from the warehouse today and the one taken initially when the warehouse was stocked clearly showed that the items are different.
However, we clearly condemn the vandalism of properties as we call for calm in our state as destruction of infrastructure will only mortgage our future.
