The managing director, cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA)/Feed the future Nigeria Agribusiness investment activities, a United State Agency for International Developement USAID programme, Mr Adam Saffer has described Cross River State as Nigeria State of the Art.

Mr Saffer who made this assertion during a continuation of his statewide tour of some of Governor Ayade industrial strides at the Ultra Modern Cocoa processing plant in Ikom said, this was based on the silent industrial revolution going on in the State.

Mr Saffer who was led on the tour by the Chairman of the State Debt Review and Projects development Commission, Chief Chris Agara and other members of the commission said Cocoa is the crop which would bridge Cross River State to the rest of the world being an export Crop.

He said the Ultra Modern Cocoa Processing plant was a unique idea in terms of its scale, planning and strategy adding that nowhere in the world has he seen such technology and forward thinking in one place.

According to him, even though they is still a tremendous amount of work to be done by everybody including the host communities of these industries, the pace and concentration of technology in a bid to digitalise Africa makes him think of Cross River as that State of the Art.

On his part, a consultant in the cocoa value chain and founder of Spagnvola nutmeg hot chocolates, Mr Eric Reid said three things stands the Ultra modern cocoa plant out,they are, the philosophy, transformation and wealth creation adding that Cross River State is doing exactly what is a State or Country is expected to do for her people in terms of wealth creation.

Speaking at the Ultra modern Rice mill in Ogoja, the deputy Chief of party feed the future Nigeria, Agribusiness investment activity, Mr Farouk Kurawa said the mill would require huge amount of raw materials which must significantly come from the same source.

The team had earlier visited the Ayade industrial site which houses Calachika, the rice seedling company, the feed mill, the Ayade Rice farm in Obudu among others.
