Cross River PDP Crisis: Be A Man, Stop Hiding Behind Hirelings — Ikem Advises Gov Ben Ayade
HON. CHRIS NJAH MBU-OGAR
MEMBER ETUNG STATE CONSTITUENCY CROSS RIVER STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY.
GOVERNOR BEN AYADE HAS SUFFERED SERIOUS INJUSTICE IN THE HANDS OF THE LEADERSHIP OF PDP AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL
Me: this is a ridiculous accusation from the camp of Gov Ayade who have consistently used the NWC to frustrate the PDP in Cross River State from moving forward. It is on record that the NWC against all civilized conduct unabashedly gave complete and total advantage to Gov Ayade, prior to, during and at every point material during the conduct of Party Congresses and during the primary Election for the party’s flag bearer for the SenatSenatorial bye Election in CRN.
The NWC allowed Gov Ayade to handpick all the members of the Congresses committees from Ward Congress to the aborted state Congress and the screening Committee, despite protests from other party leaders in CRS. Unfortunately, a bad work man must blame his tools. It is not therefore surprising and indeed good riddance, that the same people who benefitted from the biased support of the NWC are the same people blaming them for not spoon feeding them enough. What an irony of fate!
The National legal adviser took the NWC”s support to the most ridiculous level when he appealed against the decision of the Court of Appeal in favour of the authentic list of the party executive in the wards and local govt congresses even after the National Executive committee of the party had endorsed the same Congress report! Unfortunately, the NWC was caught dancing naked when the Supreme Court finally affirmed all the judgments of the lower Court’s and held that the Authentic list of the party executives remains the legitimate executive of the party.
As at today the NWC purportedly disqualified me from contesting at the state Congress, on the ridiculous grounds that I have not been in the party for up to 18months before the Congress, when indeed I returned to the party on the 23rd of December, 2018 despite the fact that the said Congress has not held until now! ! And despite the screening Committee’s report that they were made to sign the report at gunpoint at the Chief of staff to Gov Ayade’s residence, which report the Legal adviser shamelessly filed before the Federal High court!
Despite the judgment of the Federal High court that ordered that I am duly qualified to contest at the state Congress the NWC has still without shame appealed to the Court of appeal against my candidature, in the vain hope as usual that the Gov will buy Justice! As it seems the Justice is proving too expensive for him to afford despite sitting on the allocation for more useful purposes which Gov Ayade diverts shamelessly to fund the political battles against imaginary enemies and shares generously with some shameless party executives. If they are not serving their purpose, Gov Ayade and his lackeys like this one should retrace their steps and accept the inevitable truth that God is on the side of truth!
The path to peaceful coexistence is straight forward and cheaper than deceiving unsuspecting followers about his imagined powers! He is being systematically striped naked before the assembly of his people. My advise to Gov Ayade is to stop hiding behind hirelings and be man enough to accept responsibility for his misleadership, retrace his steps and be humble enough to be taught Politics otherwise his end will be catastrophic..
A SITUATION WHERE A SITTING GOVERNOR IS DEPRIEVED OF THE PARTY STRUCTURES AND COMPLAINS ARE MADE THE NATIONAL PARTY LEADERSHIP CAN NOT TAKE FIRM DECISIONS TO SALVAGE THE SITUATION THEN THERE IS SOMETHING GRAVELY WRONG SOMEWHERE
Me: The NWC has done whatever the Gov asked for. That he has failed despite the unprecedented bias in his favour should tell all who have followed the process that he is incapable of managing any political situation. Indeed he has consistently scored against himself. The fault therefore is in his defense team not his attackers or coaching Crew! A man may give you a wife but the responsibility to impregnate her remains yours!
The NWC has taken sides with Ayade consistently, but they forgot that there are courts of Justice! The courts remain the hope of the common man! Let me remind you, as you already know, that only the judicial system has sustained us to this point and not the decisions of the NWC!
WE HAVE TO LOOK INWARD, ALL POLITICAL GLADIATORS IN CROSS RIVER STATE ARE BENEFICIARIES OF SEN. LIYEL IMOKE’S POLITICAL CACULATION.
Me: When did Gov. Ayade remember that Sen.imoke is the leader of the Party in Cross River State? He should not think that all his boasts about dealing with Sen. Imoke( for being behind his present travails, despite the assistance Sen. Imoke has been giving him through it all,) , remained within his circle. We have all heard and Sen. Imoke has heard. He has boasted that he bought his governorship from Sen. Imoke and owes him nothing! A man everyone who worked with would vouch for his integrity! A most modest man for whom money means nothing! God is great! We all knew that this day would come! It is not yet dawn infact. When day breaks when Gov. Ayade would need Sen. Imoke is ahead. For, now I will advise him to leave the gentleman to enjoy his peace of mind. I recall the most striking refrain in all of my conversation with this amazing man, Sen.. Imoke just yesterday. He said to me 4 times: “Vena, I am always praying for Ayade”; I pray for Ayade”!
I just could feel his modesty, his Godliness that makes him the Leader he is! What a contrast Gov Ayade has provided us: hounding imagined enermies all over the state, pursung vainglory! Vanity upon vanity!
This is an example of how not to serve!
SO TO BUILD THE CROSS RIVER STATE OF OUR DREAM THE LEADER OF THE CROSS RIVER STATE POLITICS SEN. LIYEL IMOKE AND THE INCOMBENT GOVERNOR AND LEADER OF THE PARTY SEN. PROF. BEN AYADE MUST NECESSARILY SYNERGISE TO MOVE CROSS RIVER STATE FORWARD OR WE ARE HEADED FOR A COLOSSAL DESTRUSTION WHERE WE WON’T HAVE A STATE ANYMORE TO CALL OUR OWN.
Me: Really? Synergize?
Have you asked Gov. Ayade if as “a whole Governor’ he will condesceend to “synergize” with mere mortals?
It’s never too late to turn back, If you have taken the wrong road, because continuing on the wrong road will lead you nowhere no matter how long you travel on it.
Let me tell you this for free: at the point we are any dialogue, if at all must involve all critical stakeholders for it to be productive. The NASS members are critical stakeholders in this enterprise. I am not sure if they will even accept to meet with ” a whole Governor” since he thought they were too small to meet with all this while, but at the point we are, he has exhausted his bargain tricks.
Of course, we are aware of the ever present alternative that he keeps throwing at our faces, of going to APC. It’s a free world and Registration is still ongoing! The choice is his. But before he leaves with all of you, let him stop and study Imo State. The drama there might be instructive! I don’t Pray the Okorocha treatment for him Ooo! But he might just be working too hard to get it someday.
A word is enough for the wise.
And please we are not ALL facing any “colossal destruction” Ayade clearly is. Even our state will remain and the lessons of Gov. Ayade will bring back all Politicians to reality. It will remain a reference point for future political wisdom. It’s his choice to either keep heading towards his personal “collosal destruction” or do the prodigal dance!
I wait for Part 2.
