1 min

Hon. Ani Esin, the State Security Adviser, South, to Gov. Ben Ayade, has said that the state Governor deserves commendation for his efforts in keeping the state free from Covid-19 irrespective of all the challenges.

Esin said that till date, Gov. Ayade has led as a field commander in the war on COVID-19 very well.

He explained that the Governor and his team has confronted the assault from the front line on Cross River long stretch and open defendless boarders, both onshore and offshore with the ruthlessness it deserves.

“Many a night we found ourselves in the heart of darkness going through bushtracks, creeks, hills, streets to block our boarders so that we shouldn’t be living amongst the walking dead (corona virus).

“Gov Ayade deserves commendation and support at this time when we need to keep the situation as it stands. If the Efik Leadership Foundation (ELF) is sincere they should support and maintain the scores.

“Rather, they have chosen to invited the virus itself to visit the state just to satisfy their long quest to bring Ayade down.

“Up until this invitation by ELF, let it be on record that Cross River had no known case even after a lot of random test.

“Let it also be known to ELF that this letter lacks the weight to put CRSG at cross path with President Buhari, as no known ex governor of this state has ever been unfriendly with a sitting president of Nigeria”, he said.

According to him, President Buhari thinks well of the South South State and no one can deny Gov. Ayade of that

“It is in the DNA of our governors to be on the same page with sitting presidents bearing in mind our fragile state in the committee of states. Preserve your energy ELF, so you can use it when the time comes because more than an ordinary letter will be demanded of you”, he said.
