Don’t Be Afraid Of Any Bullet — Defence Minister Ginger Soldiers Fighting Boko Haram

As the country fights Boko Haram terrorists in the northeast, Defense Minister Magashi Bashir has told the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole not to fear any bullets from the terrorists.

Magashi gave the charge on Sunday during a visit to the Theatre Command in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, with the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, and other service chiefs, according to Weetalknaija (WTN).

Don’t be afraid of bullets; they will come and go,” he said. “When you are not meant to die by a bullet, you will never die; but, if you are meant to die by a bullet, a bullet will find you even in your bedroom, as I did during service.”

The aim of the visit, according to the Minister, was to assess and inspire the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole’s fighting spirit.

He also informed the troops of the Federal Government’s intention to employ additional personnel to relieve battle-weary soldiers.

“Very soon, we will begin recruiting other soldiers and officers in order to increase the manpower keeping of our armed forces,” Magashi added.

“We’ll bring new equipment and skills that I’d like all of you to take advantage of so that you can be more proficient and successful in this task. We’ve squandered time; we’ve been at this for nearly ten years.

“We have a lot of other operations in this country in terms of banditry and other stuff, and I am confident that if you have the right resources, you will make this country proud.” We believe in you, your training, and professionalism, and we believe you will meet the country’s needs in combating Boko Haram as it currently exists.”
