The Edo State chapter of the People’s Democratic party (PDP) has frown against the recent press released on the suspension of some its party members.
In a statement issued by Chris Osa Nehikhare, says Edo state PDP is not aware of any group that goes by the name “PDP integrity group” and that the general reading publish should disregard the group in totality.
Also reacting, Hon. Suleiman cautioned Edo PDP on the recent internal misunderstanding in the party and advised that the only the party can stand tall to win the forthcoming governorship elections in the state is by coming together to reunite as a family.
Among the suspended members include ; former Foreign Affairs Minister, Chief Tom Ikimi, former Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Mike Oghiadohme, former Minister of Works, Arch.Mike Onolememen from the party over alleged anti party activities. Also suspended were Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Senator Yisa Braimoh, Senator Victor Oyofo and the former leader of the House of Representatives, Tunde Akogun.
“Edo PDP is not aware of any group that goes by the name PDP integrity group. Whatever statement that has been released or issued by this group should be disregarded.
We frown at their audacity to suspend or even say they are suspending respected leaders of our party especially as they lack such powers.
Their attempt to offer an extension to the tenure of Chief Dan Orbih is not only laughable, but infantile. Chief Orbih has not requested for any extension. He has said he is going on the expiration of his tenure in March 2020. That is the position of the party!
Their behavior is mischievous and condemnable.
They are not members of any organ of our party and as such cannot issue statements or releases on behalf of PDP.
We will not hesitate to discipline any party member that submits himself to be used as a political tool in the hands of our political opponents.
