The British government’s claim that it was unaware of the arrest of Biafra agitator and IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu could be false.
Kanu was detained in Britain following a sting operation in collaboration with Nigeria, according to the world power.
The United Kingdom denied knowing for bilateral reasons, according to a source close to federal officials who spoke to DailyPost Tuesday night.
“Kanu was not caught in the United Kingdom. He was captured in an African country, and they are aware of it.
“Did you expect their authorities to say something? You think the British government and Nigerian government will favour one individual over a long-term partner?
“I’ll be honest with you, it got to the point where Britain was uncomfortable with Kanu’s statements.”
According to the source, the founder of the Indigenous People of Biafra was rash in his moves and acts.
“You’d expect someone with his clout to travel about in a big way. Because he commands thousands of Eastern Security Network (ESN) officers, he should go places with bodyguards.
“However, he did not. Kanu was unrestricted in his visits to nightclubs and lounges. He had no security and was surrounded by armed boys! He enjoys being among women and has been seen having a good time with them on multiple occasions.
Intelligence specialists reasoned that since this appeared to be his weak spot, they should approach him with a female operative.
“Kanu felt he was heading to a meeting to collect a large gift to help the Biafra cause on the day of his arrest. That didn’t happen; instead, he walked right into a trap.”
On July 26, the secessionist will stand trial again at the Federal High Court in Abuja. He is accused of treason for directing a campaign to make Nigeria ungoverned.
Kanu is accused by the government and security services of assassinating hundreds of security personnel and destroying government infrastructure in the South-East and South-South.
The crimes were committed by the ESN, IPOB militia branch, also known as “unknown gunmen,” according to two sources close to intelligence authorities.
“ESN has carried out heinous crimes. One stated, “You will be horrified when you hear the things that will be exposed during Kanu’s trial.”
