“Flood Our Markets With The Rice, I Want To Serve As A Major Distributor” — PDP Chieftain Challenges Ayade Over Fake Viral Video Of Victimised Ogoja Rice Mill

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Cross River State Dr. Dorn Cklaimz Enamhe, has implored the State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade to diversify his energies from fabricating video clips on social media on the white elephant projects undertaken by his administration to getting the numerous industries running as claimed.

Enamhe, who spoke with Summit Post via telephone, described as malicious the perennial habit of inviting notable Cross Riverians to inspect comatose industries fitted with hired equipment with the mischievous intention of doctoring such videos for deceitful purposes just to attract media accolades and credibility,

Dr Enamhe , a former Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on branding and communication stated this while reacting to a viral video which portrayed him applauding Governor Ben Ayade over the controversial victimised Ogoja Rice Mill.

The PDP stalwart who is now the Director-General of Senator Jarigbe Campaign Organization, maintained that the trending video was doctored to score cheap political points.

According to him, I was invited about three months ago along with other selected stakeholders from the Northern senatorial district for an on-the-spot assessment of the Ogoja rice mill and to proffer the way forward having been sealed up for years.

“I lauded the vision but raised concerns over pre-arranged bags of rice awaiting sealing by strange faces parading as workers which I spotted. I also cited glaring lapses including the absence of public power supply, lack of water, and the alarming distance from the source of raw materials for production and other issues which were supposed to be addressed from inception in the feasibility report on the project.

“Unknown to me ,the film tricks acted at the Rice Seedlings plant in Calabar where they allegedly hired equipment from the United States to deceive even President Buhari was about being replicated. All issues I raised have been carefully edited out of the video in circulation”

“But despite the cheap propaganda , the rice mill is still under lock and key. Nothing is happening there. So, who is fooling who? it is ridiculous that governance in Cross River has been reduced to this level of childish fantasy and mockery”

“Industries don’t operate on social media therefore, posting video clips does not mean the mill is completed or operational. I challenge those behind this video to flood our markets with the said rice. I want to serve as a major distributor”

“I also dare the Governor to open these glorified warehouses christened as industries for inspection by Nigerians instead of the occasional social media gimmicks. Let’s see the products from the so-called over 20 factories in the markets”

Such industries under question include Ultra Modern Rice Seedling Plant in Calabar, Kissimie Noodles Factory , Cross River State Chicken Processing Factory, (Calachika) Calabar Pharmaceuticals Company , Calapharm, Pile and Pylons in Akamkpa, Banana Plantation, in Odukpani, Roofing Tiles Factory in Ogoja, Cross River State Groundnuts Processing factory in Bekwarra, etc, This is my humble request to my governor.”

On the plight of pensioners in the state, the University Don said: “I can’t understand why pensioners are dying in droves under his government due to untold hardship arising from the irregular payment of their entitlements since 2015 when he came on board.. It is saddening

Commenting on the ongoing massive deforestation in the state, Enamhe opined “It’s appalling that the massive onslaught on our forest reserves across the state is taking place under his watch. We used to know him as an avowed environmentalist. It gives credence to the growing insinuations that the abandoned super highway project was conceived as a dummy to defrost our globally acknowledged forest endowments for personal gains”

On the Senate contest between Senator Jarigbe and the Governor, Enamhe posited that Senator Jarigbe has nothing to worry about given the impact he has created in the area just within a year.

“By the grace of God, the litany of projects across the 54 wards in the North, vocational training to promote self-employment, and other intervention programmes facilitated by Senator Jarigbe to better the lives of our people will be a deciding factor between the two protagonists in the election”

Unless disqualify by the court on pending bordering on the legality of the process leading to his emergence, Governor Ben Ayade is expected to slug it out with incumbent Senator, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe in Cross River North.
