Former Cross River Lawmaker Slumps, Dies During quarrel With Friend Over Parking Space
Hon. Nwenji Eteng, a former lawmaker who represented Ikpakapit ward, Ugep in Yakurr local government area of Cross River State, slumped and died a few days ago while exchanging words with a friend about where to park his car.
Miss Obia, an eyewitness, stated that the fight between the two friends, who are paternally related, was over a parking place. Hon. Nwenji had piled his belongings into his car in front of Mr. Eteng’s wife’s shop. Eteng, also known as “Rise Up,” was now warning Hon. Nwenji not to park his car there, and an argument ensued, with expletives, challenges, and words being exchanged. Hon. Nwenji slumped and passed out immediately.
“The deceased friend, Mr Eteng popularly known as Rise up was quarrelling his friend Hon Labour, telling him not to park his car in front of his wife’s shop. As they were quarrelling and challenging themselves,the deceased slumped and died.” Obia informed.
When this happened, according to eyewitness accounts, adolescents and neighbors began trashing Mr. Eteng’s things, accusing him of killing his friend through spiritual methods.
WeetalknaijaBlog gathered that, Mr. Eteng is currently on the run, but it’s unclear whether he’s hiding for his own protection or because the charge is accurate.
Many have questioned the destruction of Eteng’s property, claiming Hon. Labor died of a heart attack rather than a spiritual attack from Mr. Eteng as many had assumed, and demanding for an autopsy to determine the true reason of Hon. Labor’s death.
