Former Cross River Women’s Commissioner Is Dead


Mrs Edak Iwuchukwu, former Commissioner for Women Affairs in Cross River State, has been cradled by death’s hands.

Iwuchukwu died on Saturday, August 14, 2021, in Calabar, reports.

Though the cause of her death has yet to be determined, sources claim that she was “down in health” when she died.

Mrs. Edak is a member of the Edak family.

Mrs Edak Iwuchukwu worked for Governor Liyel Imoke’s administration as a Commissioner for Women’s Affairs.
Iwuchukwu also handled the operation of the Family Support Nursery and Primary School in Calabar, Cross River State, as a Commissioner for Women Affairs.
Imoke suspended Iwuchukwu and six other Commissioners in 2013 for failing to attend the World AIDS Day commemorative walk on Sunday, December 1, 2013. 13 Special Advisers were also suspended indefinitely.
