GOOD NEWS!!! Corps member buys Jamb forms for 30 students in Ondo (Photos)
Da-Silva, an NYSC corps member of 2019 Batch A with state code OD/19A/2286 and currently serving at Inside-out Property Limited in Akure, Ondo State on Thursday offered the free jamb form to 30 students from Ijo Mimoluwa Secondary School Akure and some selected students from Owo Federal constituency.
The highly spirited corps member had donated the form to the students from his monthly allowance at the JAMB office in Alagbaka, Akure. The action was to give back to the public where he serves his father land, AFAM News had gathered
“Education is life and it is essential for everyone to compete in this world today. Am just doing this to motivate people, impact lives and for the betterment of the society. Some people are on the verge of giving up on education because they couldn’t afford this form but I am sure this will encourage them to move forward”.
“I want to thank Ondo state NYSC, all my sponsors for deeming it fit to make the project a success. Although long before the NYSC allowance was increased, I have been saving part of my allowance to be able to do this little project”.
Responding, the Akure South NYSC Zonal Inspector, Mr. Francis Adebayo, who was at the venue commended the giant stride of the corps member to aid the furtherance of the students’ education, adding that NYSC too will not relent in its capacity in supporting corps members towards impacting lives in their host communities.
“The scheme under the management of Mrs. Grace Akpabio is committed to ensuring that corps members who embark on personal community development service projects would be readily supported at all times”.
Some of the beneficiaries, Jimoh Rasak Abiodun, Benedict Beauty of Ijo Mimoluwa secondary school, lauded the corps member for his act of kindness. They called on well-meaning Nigerians to support education among Nigerian youths through the provision of scholarship schemes and other incentives.
A guardian, Mr.Obadare Temidayo Samson who also expressed his gratitude, called on individuals to key into developmental projects. He enjoined other corps members emulate Da-Silva as doing this would go a long way to improve Nigeria Education system as it is the only panacea to some of the vices currently facing the country.
Mr Adewusi Tolulope, from Ijo Mimoluwa Secondary School Akure, the school teacher Mr Adewusi Tolulop, lauded the generosity of DaSilva. He stressed that the joy he has brought to the students’ lives and their parents is unquantifiable especially the less privileged ones among them.
