Greater Calabar Capital City Development Agency Collaborates With CRISSAA For Sustainable Development In C-River

One of the efforts of Governor Ben Ayade in the five years of his administration, is the unwavering drive towards actualising the concept of a Greater Calabar City.

A modern, well planned and consciously developed city that will not only decongest the already over-populated old city of Calabar, the Cross River State capital, but will lay, a solid foundation for infrastructural explosion with the highest economic potentials. To become the hub of business activities not only in the hydro carbon industry, but also in the tourism sector of the nation’s economy.

Greater Calabar City Development Authority has partnered Cross River State Signage and Advertisement Agency (CRISSAA) to consolidate on the Sir Ben Ayade’s gains of decongesting Calabar metropolis.

Chairman of the Authority, Mr Bassey Effiom explained that, Greater Calabar City Development Authority (GCCDA) is an agency of the Government of Cross River State. It was formed under Law No. 2, in 2016 by the Cross River State House of Assembly (CRHA). It is entrusted with facilitating the execution of the master plan for Greater Calabar. It also has the responsibility to develop the area, by putting into practical effect, policy measures aimed at promoting and providing effective infrastructures and social services.

Describing Calabar as Nigeria’s door to the global tourism,Mr Bassey Effiom noted that, it has become necessary to partner with CRISSAA and seek for cordial working relationship so as to enable the Agency actualize its aims and objectives.

Thanking the Director General (DG) of CRISSAA, Mr Effiom Effiwatt, for a warm reception, Mr Bassey Effiom commended him for his good works and steadfastness thus far, adding that God would continue to give him the strength to do more.

Contributing, Kingsley Ikpeme, GCCCDA Director General said the purpose of the visitation is to enable the agency partner other sister agencies to enable them achieve the vision of the State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade’s dream of taking development from metropolis to rural areas.

Responding, Mr Effiom Effiwatt commended the Greater Calabar team for their relentless effort and commitment.

Mr Effiom Effiwatt said, his agency is open for a partnership of any kind.
