Greater Calabar Seeks Collaboration With Akamkpa LGA

The Greater Calabar Capital City Development Authority (GCCCDA), is desirous of entering into partnership with the Akamkpa Local Government Area, with a view of decongesting the state Capital, Calabar.

Chairman of GCCCDA, Bassey Effiom, made this known on Thursday, during a working relationship with his team to the LGA.

Effiom said, extending development to “hard-to-reach” areas in the state, is one of the key mandates of the Sir Ben Ayade-led administration in Cross River State.This has made it imperative for the agency to explore possible ways of ensuring a sustainable, working and friendly atmosphere for residents of the state.

According to Mr Bassey Effiom, the state is blessed to have Ayade as the Governor, adding that, the Governor has done extremely good with his deep vision, particularly, the vision of extending development to rural communities in the Southern senatorial district.

Contributing, the Director General of the Authority, Kingsley Ikpeme, said GCCCDA saw a potential collaboration with Akamkpa LGA, considering the giant strides that had been made by the Chairman, Hon. Linus Etim within a very short period of time, and the agency had also done its research and due diligence about the values of the LGA, which quite aligned with the values it held dear as an administration.

The Council Chairman, Hon. Linus Etim, thanked the Agency for finding Akamkpa worthy of collaborating with, noting that, provided the idea would attract meaningful development to the area, he’s fully in for the collaboration.

Continuing, Linus said that there was need to synergized so as to consolidate on the gains of Ben Ayade deep vision of extending development to other LGA’s in the southern senatorial district.
